Data Acquisition

Different measurement methods are available:

  • Single Shot
    One spectrum or a single point is measured depending on the type of detector
  • Step & Glue
    During the acquisition several frames will be measured at different spectrometer position and will be merged after the measurement to get a wide range spectrum.
  • Scanning
    A single point detector can be used to get an overview of a wide spectral range.
  • Intensity versus time
    With Intensity versus time simple time resolved measurement can be done with a ccd camera or single point detector.

Data View

The data can be displayed in different ways. The following views are available:

  • Spectra
    Single data frames or Step&Glue files can be displayed as a graph.
  • Image
    The image view is used to display data coming from an imaging camera or data that is calculated during an analysis procedure.
  • 3D
    2D data can be viewed as a 3D Image. This is useful for images with height information like data from AFM measurement.
  • Cube
    If data is made with a motorized stage in xyz mode, it can be shown as a data cube.

Raman Library

With help of the Raman-Library AddIn VistaControl can be used to search for known spectra in different databases.

For now the database from STJapan (>20000 spectra) can be used as well as the files from the RRUFF library, which is more useful for geology measurements.

In VistaControl it’s also possibility to create your own library.

Multivariate Analysis

The “Multivariate Analysis” is an extension to relate data elements within mappings. For this purpose, relevant positions within the spectrum are selected, which are then evaluated and displayed according to their intensity.

Postprocessing

Several post processing functions are implemented to improve your measured data like

  • Smoothing
  • Normalization
  • Arithmetic
  • Background Subtraction
  • Baseline Correction
  • Spike Removal
  • Fast-Fourier-Transformation

Analysis

Analysis functions are used to get a different view on the measured data. It depends on the data which function makes sense.

  • Multiple Frames View (Time, Position, Temperature, Polarization)
  • Peaksearch
  • Curve-Fitting

Interfaces

VistaControl software can be extended with help of different interfaces.

Depending on your needs, you can choose from the following options:

  • Python Interface
    The Python interface uses remoting via tcp/ip connection.
    Predefined modules are available for communication.
  • LabView Interface
    If LabView is used in your lab, VistaControl can be controlled with our Vis.
  • Visual Scripting
    With “Visual Scripting” a graphical editor is used to generate and run scripts.
    For communication the same interface is used as for python.
  • C# Interface
    VistaControl has an inbuild C# programming editor. With this you get full control of VistaControl.
